My second ArtRage of 2011: The Ecstasy of Saint Theresa

After rediscovering The Ecstasy of Saint Theresa last night, I spent an idle hour using ArtRage to capture the expression on her face. My source was the photo below (that I originally found here)

Designer / Model

This video captures an element of the design world we've always suspected existed but were never really sure. Now, all doubts have been banished.

Clicking on the image below will launch the original site with the quicktime video. If you are having problems try watching the video on youtube.

Selected quotes from the video:

"The creative process is kind of like Frogger"

"That's really all design is: problem-solving. Sometimes a client will bring me a project that has virtually no problem to solve. So I create one."

"Design can change the world. I think crop circles prove that"

Visualizing my time at Microsoft

June of 2011 marks my 15th year at Microsoft. It has been and continues to be an excellent adventure. Over dinner with friends and colleagues recently I was asked about the kinds of things I had worked on during that time. When I look back on it the journey has been amazing in technical breath and depth. It's had the privilege of working on exciting fields with inspirational people – all of which has enabled me to grow in so many ways both personally and professionally.

In the spirit of celebrating those amazing times and reminding myself to be grateful for all the great opportunities I've had, this morning I decided to illustrate my journey …

For the Visio fans out there – I built this using Visio 2007
