Many months of frustration with Windows 8 and years of pain with Windows 7 have concluded with a dramatic and pleasant turn of events.
Wacom released a few days ago a driver (Version 6.3.6-w3) which is the solution we've been waiting for. Windows 7 and Windows 8 are usable again if you own a Wacom tablet. I'll describe the results I've had have been excellent. [For further information about the driver go here]
After you install the driver launch the Wacom Tablet Properties application – you can find it from the Start Menu/Start Screen or from the Control Panel.
Then selection your Tablet, then under Tool select your pen you use, and under Application select All. Then navigate to the Mapping tab. Now, At the bottom-left corner uncheck the checkbox marked Use Windows Ink. Close the Wacom Tablet Properties application.
You are done – the effect takes place immediately.
Let me explain what is fixed.
- No more Dynamic Feedback rings
- No more Press-and-Hold
- No Drag Delay
Install the Driver and Do it Now. Really.

It seems the only driver recently released (the one you mentioned) is for the Intuos series. Bamboo drivers are still in the 5.3.2-1 version since January. Should we expect this solution to trickle down to us poor Bamboo users? Would this driver work for Bamboo? (my limited knowledge in computers says no, but it doesn't hurt to ask)
@WishingStar - in my experience with the drivers - I've had both a Bamboo and an Intuos connected to my computer - and it seems that the drivers are distinct: the driver for one does not affect the other. With that in mind I don't think the Intuos driver will work with a Bamboo tablet. I *do* expect the changes to eventually (I hope soon) be available in the Bamboo driver - although I don't know what timeframe Wacom has in mind.
So BAD Bamboo tablet is not included in this version...
if this isn't compatible with your tablet you can close wisptis.exe from the task manager processes tab. this will remove the ring and click delay and all that annoying stuff. Tablet will work like it did in xp.

I think the update is in the latest version of the Bamboo drivers as well, but the Windows Ink button is hidden behind some menus.
You can find it under Bamboo Preferences -> click the Pen tab -> in the Tracking box, click Mapping.
At the bottom, there is the Windows Ink option.
All my options were disabled already, so I haven't been able to check if this works. But as the naming is the same, I assume it will work the same as well?

This is the only thing that has worked for me that isn't restarting my laptop or having to reinstall my driver, thank you so much!
While this checkbox does solve the ripple effect problem inwindows 8.1, it introduced a new problem for me, as the mouse cursor approaches the right or top edges of the screen it pops on the other side, extremely frustrating.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? Maybe you know how to solve it?

the driver works in win 8.1 and n lightroom but it doesnt work in cc2014 and cc2014 doesnt work in win 8.1. the problems looks like it is with adobe 2014

This is exactly the problem I'm having right now. And I'm also using a older model Bamboo Tablet, so disabling Windows Ink does not work for me. :(
It's me again!
I may have found a temporary solution to the problem. Go to Windows Control panel, then "Pen and Touch". Click on the Pen Options Tab. Select "Press and Hold" then click on "Settings" (this will take you to "Press and Hold Settings"): Un-check "Enable press and hold for right clicking". Click OK, then apply these settings. This should get rid of that annoying pop up ring and menu window when using PS CC while still keeping pen pressure. I hope this will help! :)
I have issue with both bamboo 470 and wacom 480. Pen property window appears in unusable shape --very small options overlayed with each other.Please help
